Apple’s new Distraction Control in Safari (iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia) helps users declutter websites by hiding distracting elements like pop-ups, sign-in prompts, and banners. This feature is similar to Arc Browser’s Boost tool, which allows for website customization. Distraction Control, available in the Page Menu, lets users manually select which parts of a webpage to hide. These preferences are saved for future visits, but don’t sync across devices.

How to use it:

1. Open the Page Menu from the address bar. iPhone Screens showing the steps needed to hide an element in safari 2. Select “Hide Distracting Items.”

3. Tap on the items you want to remove. iPhone Screens showing the steps needed to hide an element in safari

You can also unhide elements by selecting “Show Hidden Items” in the same menu. While this tool won’t block ads or dynamic content, it significantly improves focus by reducing visual clutter.
